Monk Park Farm welcomes all visitors, and we endeavour to make the farm as accessible as is practically possible. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy nature and get close to farming, whatever your accessibility requirements.
The farm offers free car parking on a gravelled surface and grass in the overflow car park. There is an area close to the entrance which is designated for disabled parking, approximately 20 – 40 metres from the main entrance. There is also a hard standing area by the ticket hut which is ideal for drop-off and pick-up where appropriate. Please be aware that it is on a slight incline.
Monk Park is a working farm in a rural location and some parts of the farm include uneven surfaces. There is a circular route from the main entrance to the play area which is on a hard surface and is wheelchair and pram friendly. The petting barn has wide entrances with flush thresholds to allow easy access for pushchairs and wheelchairs.
Our feeding stations (excl the Goat Tower) have accessible areas denoted by signs with hard, level standing and the bottle feeding area also has a designated accessible area on hard standing.
The majority of our animal information boards dotted around the park include a link to audio descriptions on the website – we are in the process of upgrading the remaining description boards.
We have a fully accessible unisex toilet. Baby changing facilities are located in the ladies and accessible unisex toilet which have level access from the entrance courtyard.
The Hungry Monk Cafe is accessible to wheelchair users via the level entrance in the courtyard at the entrance.
First Aid: We have a number of staff trained in first aid and at least one will be on duty at all times.
Please note, the staff at Monk Park Farm are willing to assist in any way possible to make access to the site and its activities. If you have concerns about your visit to the farm please telephone or email to discuss your requirements.
