We are really excited to announce our new opening times for our 2023 season after a busy last year for both our team and our animals.

Our new season runs from March 24th until November 6th with our regular opening times from 10am to 5pm, Fridays to Mondays. We’ll also be open for additional days including full weeks during Easter, Summer, Halloween and Christmas. You can read more about this below.

Our new opening times have been planned to ensure our animals and our team get some regular R&R in between meeting our visitors. 2022 was the most amazing year for us and we were extremely busy for much of it, including sell-out days during Easter, Halloween and Christmas. While we’ve loved every minute we recognise the need to balance this with our aim of providing a stress-free and enjoyable environment for our guests, animals and staff.

We already restrict the number of visitors we allow into the farm each day and our new opening times will help us make the farm an enjoyable and relaxed place to be – for our animals, our visitors and our team.

The welfare of our animals is our top priority. We are focused on ensuring they are as happy and healthy as possible. They love being the centre of attention and are our star attractions. But even celebrities need a day off!

Our animals

We have a wide variety of animals here at Monk Park Farm including rare breeds such as alpacas, Belted Galloways, Cameroon and Soay sheep, Golden Guernsey Goats, Kunekune and Saddleback pigs, and wallabies.

Our animals get lots of time out in the fields of our 84-acre farm, and our visitors are able to view them from the footpaths around the site. The main paths around the fields are wheelchair, pram and buggy accessible, and our clear signage directs you to the best vantage points, while our information boards and audio guides feature lots of information about the different breeds. Our animals are very friendly and will come to say hello – especially if you have a bag of animal feed with you!

You can also meet some of our animals in the petting barn, where we have guinea pigs and rabbits. Depending on the time of year and weather conditions, we also hold lamb and kid bottle feeding sessions in the petting barn or outside in our feeding pen.
