Peacocks are male peafowl, female ones are peahens, although both are commonly referred to as peacocks.
Only the male has an elaborate show of feathers, It’s believed that he uses this to attract a female, although this is just a theory.
Originally from parts of India, Peafowl are forest birds that nest on the ground eating mostly plants, flower petals, seed heads, and insects.
Our two male Peacocks arrived at Monk Park Farm in 2021.
